As a new academic home for studies in the health professions, the Center for Allied Health Programs currently has two accredited programs, CLS and OT, and will be adding additional programs of study in the future.

clinical laboratory scientistClinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS)

When it comes to the challenge and rewards of medicine and science, the medical technologist (MT) has the best of both worlds. Medical technologists work in all areas of the clinical laboratory including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology. The information that a MT gives to the physician influences the medical treatment a patient will receive.

Occupational Therapy (OT)

occupational therapistOf all the careers in the health professions, occupational therapists are unique in their concern for how people’s health conditions interfere with their ability to lead productive, fulfilling lives. Services typically include customized treatment programs to improve a person’s ability to perform daily activities; home and job site evaluations with recommendations for modifications of jobs or environments; recommendation for use of adaptive equipment, including training; and guidance to family members and caregivers.
