Performance Sites
Performance sites are geographic locations where students enrolled in the CAHP programs can access faculty, participate in learning activities, and gain access to support services. They are also places where technology enhanced learning laboratories, equipped to permit students to practice skills and demonstrate their competence, are located.
Twin Cities
The Twin Cities campus is the original CAHP performance site and houses core faculty and staff of programs along with classrooms and teaching laboratories. These facilities are located in the Academic Health Center of the University of Minnesota and can be found in the Children’s Rehabilitation Center and Phillips-Wangensteen buildings. The Twin Cities campus also currently houses the core administrative staff for the Center, some of whom also divide their time with the Rochester site. The Clinical Laboratory Sciences (created in 1922) and Occupational Therapy ( created un 1946) programs in the Twin Cities predated the creation of the Center for Allied Health Programs and are among the oldest accredited programs in the United States.
Rochester
The University of Minnesota Rochester is expanding to soon occupy the top two floors and a portion of the first floor, in what is currently the Galleria mall. These floors are being renovated to accommodate technology enhanced classrooms, laboratories, and common areas, as well as student support facilities and faculty and staff offices. This facility will house Occupational Therapy and Clinical Laboratory Sciences labs and classrooms. The expected completion date for these renovations is August, 2007.
